

Pamela Lawson, of Lewistown, has been deployed as commander of the 7218th Medical Support Unit for the purpose of supporting the Soldier Resilience and Readiness Center at Fort Bliss in Texas. In her civilian occupation, Lawson is an academic success coach/faculty/instructor at Penn State College of Nursing. She was born in Dover, Delaware, in 1959, and now lives in Lewistown. She is married to Mark Lawson; they have two sons, Trevor and Tristan, and three grandchildren, Zander, Joselynn and Maddox. Lawson commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1993 as a 66H army nurse, and was assigned to the 316th General Hospital. In 1994, Lawson transferred to the 322nd General Hospital after completing Officer Basic Course. Lawson served as the 9/80th/5th HSB: 91 B and W medic instructor and officer in charge from 1997 to 2007. In 2007, she was selected as the 100th program director — Combat Medics 68W, and performed this role for four years until entering the Inactive Ready Reserve. Her active duty service includes: Strategic Leadership Training and Administrator at the Army War College, Carlisle, 2005; 91 W OIC and Instructor, Camp Ripley, Montana, 2005; and Operational Support, Hohenfels, Germany, 2008.
